this picture i took in our backyard today. its a north american female cardinal. you can tell its a female cardinal because it is brown with a little bit of read. the male is bright red to attract the female cardinal.

Very cool! I didn't know this. I just thought it was a different kind of bird! This is a great shot with the wind in her feathers, snow on the limb, and buds on the limb too.
